Using my iPOD by Annette Griffioen

Using the iPod with Trainees in the Workplace

I have used my iPOD to record conversations I have with trainees when I visit their workplace. The trainees love it because I send them the audio file later and they can listen to the conversation and it reminds them of what theyneed to do before the next time I visit. Really cool!!!

Using the iPod for Interviews

I have also used the iPOD to interview a teacher about her experience with technology in the classroom. Just by showing her what’s possible. She went on to try using a video camera when assessing students. First, she made the recording, then created a little movie which she forwarded to her students for self assessment. The teacher loved it and said she would use it again.

Annette, this is cool. I would love to hear some of the interviews…. Perhaps you should post some?

I used our iPOD yesterday with a 40 year old man from the local Aboriginal community. He is doing an Art course and had to present a local Dreamtime story in some format- he was very nervous and reluctant to write so we offered him the opportunity to record his story to go with his illustrations. He sat outside in the sun and quietly told his story -it was great as he had birdsong in the background. We are now thinking about adding his illustrations and recording to a dig story in moviemaker. An added bonus is he now feels competent & comfortable with the iPoD which he felt before was a tool totally out of his agenda!
