Some great points you make here Donna. It’s interesting that you have listed personal benefits as well. It makes learning so much fun and so useful if we can personalise it. To be able to use the technologies in your personal life really cements the learning journey and helps you give your students ideas on how they might use the technologies on a personal level as well.
Thanks to the LTT team I feel my teaching has been revitalised after teaching for 40 years you get stuck in a rut and tend to do the same old same old.
The benefits and changes since joining the team:-
• Confidence to have a go and to help others, and to watch them start on their journey.
• Networking within my campus, as I am being approached by staff whom I would not have a connection with.
• Being in awe of my colleges knowledge and creativity. This has encouraged me to go beyond my boundaries.
• As an institute person being able to assist Head teachers with the plethora of paper work by looking over their shoulder with Adobe Connect
• Because I have been around for sometime …..my colleagues plead that you can’t teache an old dog new tricks- hey take a look at me.
• My only wish is that I had been born at another time where I could have started this while at school- what a nerd I would have been instead of a jock.
• I still have a long way to go but my journey has started I have taken off my ‘Ls’ and now have my “Ps”.
